General submission instructions
Abstracts will be submitted via our conference website (call for abstracts – submissions) at International Conference of SFPS 2026 - Sciencesconf.org. You will be able to submit your abstract via our conference website after you have created an account in our conference platform at International Conference of SFPS 2026 - Sciencesconf.org.
The submission platform will guide you throughout the submission process but, for your information, each submission will need a title, a list of author(s), and the abstract shall follow this structure: introduction, purpose, methods, results, and discussion/conclusions. Abstracts length will be of no more than 250 words. References, tables, pictures, etc. cannot be included in the abstract.
Note that only the abstracts of registered presenting authors (first author in the abstract authorship list) will be included in the conference programme. The registration to the conference is considered completed only upon payment.
When submitting your work, the platform will guide you through the process and ask you different information that is necessary to the scientific and organising committees, for organisational and operational reasons; these are required fields to complete submission.
Shall you have any question regarding the abstract submission, please do not hesitate to contact the conference organisation at conf-int.sportpsy2026@univ-orleans.fr
As a reminder to everyone:
- The official language of the conference and thus that of abstracts and presentations is English. Note that language editing and checking is not provided by the organisation of the conference.
- The first author of an abstract is the presenter of the contribution. As first author, one may submit a maximum of two abstracts. That is, one for an oral communication (either an individual communication or a communication within a symposium), and one for a poster communication. The exception applies to the chair/convener of a symposium who is also presenting as an author at the given symposium (which will probably be the case for most chairs/conveners), as s/he will have to submit one abstract for the “general introduction” of the symposium, and one abstract for the actual presentation of his/her communication within the symposium. Full symposium submission information in “symposia instructions”.
- Even though delegates will choose a format of communication when submitting their abstracts (either oral presentation or poster presentation), the scientific committee may suggest a change of format to the author(s) at its discretion.
Notes for students running for one of the different student awards
- During the registration, in the “comments” section, please kindly specify your status (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate).
- During the abstract submission, in the “comments” section, please kindly specify for which award you are submitting the abstract (either oral communication or poster communication.
- A student can only go for one award, either oral communication (category BSc or MSc, or category PhD), or poster communication (all categories included, i.e. BSc, MSc, PhD).
- General instructions below provided for abstract submissions apply.
- A specific abstract submission deadline is given to BSc and MSc students only (see detail in the conference website key dates).
- Students running for an award must sign the abstract submitted as first author. Obviously, multiple co-authors are possible but the student running for the award must be signing the abstract as first author (and present the work, whether it is an oral communication or a poster communication).
- Student proof will be requested in due time. Important to note that only those registered officially as student this academic year 2025-26 can submit an abstract for the student award.
- Further details regarding organisation of the students awards will follow in due time.
Oral communications (individual)
- Abstract word limit is 250 words.
- The content of the oral presentation (12+3 minutes) may be theoretical, methodological, or applied. No thematic restriction applies within the area of sport, exercise, and performance psychology.
- Abstracts shall follow this structure: introduction, purpose, methods, results, and discussion/conclusions. Abstracts reporting applied work should adopt a scientist-practitioner perspective, following as much as possible this structure: introduction, purpose, methods (design/approach/intervention), results, and discussion/conclusions.
- The first author (the presenter) will deliver the talk in the session. Session chairs will be organised by the scientific committee.
- Instructions to the author(s) of the accepted abstracts will follow regarding actual organisation and logistics of the presentation day.
Symposia (consisting of 3-4 presenters)
- Abstract word limit is 250 words.
- Symposia consist of oral presentations from different speakers (3-4 presenters), and cover a specific, coherent topic that relates to the field of sport, exercise, or performance psychology. The topic of the symposium may be theoretical, methodological, or applied. The time allocated to each symposium will be of between 60min to 90min (final allocation time will be confirmed based upon the number of submissions received and the final programme organisation) – at least though each symposium shall have time allocated for 15min per speaker (12+3 minutes each talk) and 15min for general symposium question/answer discussion.
- Each symposium should consist of three to four presenters and shall, as much as possible, include different affiliations, and both male and female presenters.
- Abstract submissions within a given symposium must be completed by each presenter, separately (first author). In addition, the chair/convener of the symposium will submit the “general introduction” abstract summarising the symposium. That is, symposia submissions will include: (a) a “general introduction” abstract (submitted by the chair/convener), which will provide the title of the symposium, will describe the significance of the topic, the purpose of the symposium, and provide an overview of each talk in the order that they will be delivered; and (b) an individual abstract for each talk (submitted individually by each presenter, with the presentation title, affiliation, etc.). Important, each presenter submitting an individual abstract will indicate in the “comments” section appearing in the submission platform, to which symposium the abstract relates to (by writing the title of the symposium in that given “comments” section).
- Individual abstracts shall follow this structure: introduction, purpose, methods, results, and discussion/conclusions. Abstracts reporting applied work should adopt a scientist-practitioner perspective, following as much as possible this structure: introduction, purpose, methods (design/approach/intervention), results, and discussion/conclusions.
- All listed presenters must be present during their symposium. Symposia chairs/conveners are expected to take charge of time management during the session, allowing sufficient time for questions and discussion with the audience.
- The symposium chairs/conveners must ensure that each presenter submits their own abstract for the symposium (and that they indicate during the submission process to which symposium it relates to, by writing the title of the symposium in the “comments” section that appears in the submission form). Complete conference registration of all presenters is necessary for a symposium to be accepted.
- Instructions to the chair/convener of the accepted abstracts will follow regarding actual organisation and logistics of the presentation day.
Poster communications (individual)
- Abstract word limit is 250 words.
- Individuals or groups of authors can present their scientific work in the form of a poster. No thematic restriction applies within the area of sport, exercise, and performance psychology. The first author is expected to be present during the whole duration of the poster session. Poster format information and organisation of the Poster Session will follow in due time.
- Instructions to the author(s) of the accepted abstracts will follow regarding actual organisation and logistics of the presentation day.
Please note:
During the registration, in the “comments” option, please kindly specify your status (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate) if you choose to participate in the student awards.
